Eligible submissions are short films 40 minutes or less, including live action (drama, narrative, action, horror, thriller, comedy, cinematography), animated, documentary,
digital microbudget (5 minutes or less, budget under $500, shot on cell phones, tablets, GoPro), college/thesis projects, 8mm/16mm/35mm film, music videos (7 minutes or less), and online spec/national campaign spots.
- Foreign language films require English subtitles.
- Oscar-nominated films eligible for screening only, not competitive categories.
- Best Short Film Grand Prize recipients eligible for Academy Awards Live Action
- Short Film category consideration without theatrical run, per Academy rules.
Official selections screen on DCP unless otherwise specified; submitters confirm screening rights upon acceptance.
